TRIM DESIGNS
An extensive range of trim designs is available for your industry needs. The primary design is a low-noise anti-cavitation trim (High Friction), complemented by multi-stage configurations with up to nine stages (20 turns) of pressure reduction.
  • HF/XHF - High Friction Trim:
Ideal for most process-control needs, this trim design reduces cavitation and noise, especially in low-pressure scenarios. In liquid applications, channel the flow over the plug, dividing it into radial jets that exit via the valve seat. For durability in demanding applications, use stellite or tungsten carbide inserts. For gas/vapor services, the preferred flow direction is beneath the plug, resulting in lower noise. Choose the XHF design for greater noise reduction.
  • HFT (High Friction Triple) Trim:
Used when noise or cavitation could pose challenges, particularly for high-pressure drop liquid applications. Distribute the pressure drop across stages of reduction. HFD (two stages) and HFT (three stages) trims evenly distribute pressure, using concentric sleeves with radial holes to create flow pathways. Chosen for less severe applications.
  • HFL/HFG (High Friction Liquid/Gas) Trim:
Incorporates concentric sleeves (HFL 2, 3, etc.) with grooves and radial holes. Grooves create a convoluted flow path, reducing the risk of cavitation.
  • HFQ/XHFQ (Low-Noise Trim - Gas):
Models like HFQ1/XHFQ1 (three stages) and HFQ2/XHFQ2 (five stages) offer optimal noise attenuation. Flow "under" the plug increases through each trim stage, resulting in low exit velocity and high noise reduction. Radial flow path and impingement reduce noise.
