Orifice Flanges & Meter Runs
High-Precision Differential Flow Assemblies
Orifice flanges are manufactured as standard according to ASME B16.36, which means 1/2" NPT flange tappings complete with plugs and jackscrews. In the case of an orifice assembly, this can be completed with an orifice plate, gaskets, stud bolts, and nuts. The flanges can optionally be executed with corner or other possible process connections, such as SW or with BW, plain-end, or flanged welding nipples. This can be completed with instrumentation valves, condensate pots, and differential pressure transmitters.
Orifice Meter Runs are fabricated in accordance with ISO 5167 requirements and several construction codes such as ASME B31.3. Apart from flange tappings, the orifice flanges and meter runs can also be executed with corner tappings, radius tappings, or pipe tappings. The flanges can optionally be supplied with dowel pins to ensure correct positioning of pipework upstream and downstream of the orifice plate.
Both orifice flanges and meter runs can be supplied in any required material complete with material certificates 3.1 or 3.2.

Our orifice flanges and calibrated meter run assemblies are engineered for critical industrial applications across energy and manufacturing infrastructure:
- Upstream Oil & Gas: Wellhead gas measurement, high-pressure separator outlet metering, and custody transfer stations.
- Refining & Petrochemical: Hydrocracker flow loops, chemical feed line measurement, and flare gas monitoring.
- Power Generation: High-pressure boiler feed steam measurement, turbine inlet loops, and condensate lines.
- Water Transmission & Desalination: High-volume intake main lines, pump discharge regulation, and distribution headers.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why choose an ASME B16.36 Orifice Flange over standard pipe flanges?
ASME B16.36 orifice flanges feature integral radial differential pressure tapping holes and jackscrews, eliminating the requirement to drill into line pipe walls while maintaining exact pressure tap distances relative to the orifice plate face.
What are the critical requirements for calibrated Meter Runs?
Meter runs eliminate flow swirl and boundary layer separation by combining honed straight upstream (typically 10D to 44D) and downstream pipe spools, flow straighteners (if required), and precise bore-aligned orifice flanges according to ISO 5167.
Are complete assembly sets including transmitters and manifolds supplied?
Yes. Assemblies can be configured with custom orifice plates, RTJ or spiral wound gaskets, ASTM A193 B7/B8M stud bolts, 3-valve or 5-valve instrumentation manifolds, condensate pots, and differential pressure transmitters.
Are materials certified for severe and sour service applications?
All carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and nickel alloy assemblies can be supplied fully certified to NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 standards with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 inspection documentation.
